Garden building in conjunction with leading London architects is the second major category of work undertaken by Smart Landscapes. These designs range form ultra modern light installations, sculptures and fountains to summer kitchen pavilions, pergolas and climbing plants, to traditional horticultural planting.

However the common architectural language by working directly with the architects is the unique advantage of this garden making process. For example in one garden we cantilevered bench seating form an external terrace wall while making an enfilade pergola completing the view from the main entrance hall.

This garden building in conjunction with selected architects arose out of necessity, out of a desire to only achieve a good result only on the job. In an environment without established relationships there is sometimes slippage in budgeting and communication between clients and architects and landscape designers and contractors. By putting the gardening process in house with the architect and operating through this trusted mode of communication directly with the client form the beginning of the design process, all parties benefit, and gardens are delivered on time and in budget without tension.
